Dennis Erb Wins Seventeenth of Season; National 100 at EAMS Up Next

2008-10-29

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb and his #28 Dirt Late Model team captured their seventeenth victory of the 2008 racing season last Friday night, October 24 at the Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in Calvert City, Kentucky! Dennis timed in second fastest in his group during qualifying at KLMS and later won his heat race to earn the outside front row starting spot for the $2,500 to win main event. The Carpentersville, Illinois native then led flag-to-flag in the A-Main to record the win over Frank Heckenast, Jr., Justin Rattliff, Jason Feger, and Joey Mack.

The pristine southwestern Kentucky venue then played host to another $2,500 to win show on Saturday evening, October 25. Dennis laid down the quickest lap in his group during time trials and finished second in heat race action. After starting from the outside of the third row in the A-Main, he held his own throughout the weekend finale and brought his #28 entry home in the sixth position. "The track at Kentucky Lake was in pretty good shape all weekend and we had a couple of good runs," quoted Erb this week. "On Friday night, we won the heat, which allowed us to start up front in the feature. Unfortunately, I let (Michael) England slip by me in the heat race on Saturday and that put us back starting sixth in the main event. It has been a wonderful 2008 season for us so far and hopefully we can end the year on a strong note at East Alabama this weekend!"

The Dennis Erb Racing team plans to wrap up their version of the 2008 racing season this upcoming Saturday and Sunday, November 1-2. The East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, Alabama will play host to the 34th Annual 'National 100' this weekend. The unsanctioned spectacular will kick-off for the Dirt Late Models on Saturday with qualifications and heat races, while the consolation events and the $30,000 to win, 100-lap main event are scheduled for Sunday.
